In My Mailbox (9)

In My Mailbox was created by The Story Siren as a fun way to see what everyone else is getting!

♥Amber's Mailbox

Since we started this blog, I've been going a little book buying crazy lately - which is NOT a bad thing at all! Here is what I bought that came in this week:

Something, Maybe by Elizabeth Scott

Everyone thinks their parents are embarrassing, but Hannah knows she's got them all beat. Her dad made a fortune showcasing photos of pretty girls and his party lifestyle all over the Internet, and her mom was once one of her dad's girlfriends and is now the star of her own website. After getting the wrong kind of attention for way too long, Hannah has mastered the art of staying under the radar...and that's just how she likes it. Of course, that doesn't help her get noticed by her crush. Hannah's sure that gorgeous, sensitive Josh is her soul mate. But trying to get him to notice her; wondering why she suddenly can't stop thinking about another guy, Finn; and dealing with her parents make Hannah feel like she's going crazy. Yet she's determined to make things work out the way she wants -- only what she wants may not be what she needs....

P.S.-Don't forget we're giving away a copy of Something, Maybe click here to enter!

Evermore by Alyson Noel

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste… Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

Guitar Girl by Sarra Manning

Seventeen-year-old Molly Montgomery never planned on becoming famous. Molly's band, The Hormones, was just supposed to be about mucking around with best mates, Jane and Tara; writing songs about Hello Kitty; and being a girl. But when the group is joined by the deliciously dangerous Dean and his friend T, things on stage - and backstage - start happening, fast. Her story is just beginning when all of Molly's dreams come true. The hazards of pop stardom, first love, screaming fans, and sleazy managers are forcing this baby diva close to the edge. Fame never comes for free, and Molly's about to find out what it costs.

Born Blue by Han Nolan

Janie...Leshaya...whatever she's called...she's a survivor. Rescued from the brink of death, this child of a heroin addict has seen it all: revolving foster homes, physical abuse, an unwanted pregnancy. Now her childhood is coming to an end, and she is determined to make a life for herself by doing the only thing that makes her feel whole...singing. Can this girl, born to a life of hardship, find the strength and courage to break away from her past and become the legend she is meant to be?

I also picked up the first volume in the Night World series. I own Volume Two already, but for some crazy reason when I bought it, I thought it was Volume One...yea, blonde moment right there. I would LOVE to say that I also got a copy of Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols and the first copy of Something, Maybe (I got one for me, one for the contest)...but noooo, Barnes & Noble just wants to torture me by not shipping it yet! *shakes fist*

Also from the library...that I really should stay away from due to the over-growing pile of books and my habit of never returning anything on time, I got:

Oh.My.Gods by Tera Lynn Childs

Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles

You had a great week. Evermore is simply amazing, it was not what I was expecting it to be but in a good way. Guitar Girl looks cute.

I hear you on buying more books (though I've cut back the last couple of weeks) and trying to take the entire YA section at the library home with me :)

I'm *squeeing* over Something, Maybe! Psyched that it came out :)

I got Guitar Girl on trade. It's on our shelf but I haven't read it yet. Born Blue sounds interesting. Happy reading.
