Review: Postards From Across The Pond by Michael Harling

Postcards From Across the Pond: Dispatches From an Accidental Expat by Michael Harling

This book began as a means of keeping in touch with the folks back one in the USA, but it soon expanded into a humorous commentary on British life by an accidental expat.

Each story - only about two or three pages long - is like reading your favorite weekly article in the paper. Or even maybe a weekly post by a blogger. It is filled with humorous and interesting stories of all the differences and ways of adjusting to life in another country. From buying shoe laces, to getting a new Social Security number, or even trying to get a simple haircut - everyone of them is a fun adventure to be taken on. Although this book might not peek interest for everyone - I think if you have ever wanted to travel to the UK, you should give it a try. You are guaranteed to at least crack a smile.

One thing I want to share with you is a simple sentence that was written, but I think are words to live by:

I tell you, being amazed by your own life is a great way to live.
